Today is NoHo Nick’s 1st birthday!

This time last year, I started this weekly newsletter to help people feel closer to our community.

Now, 1,000+ people read NoHo Nick every week for events, restaurants, and news in the San Fernando Valley.

Whether you’re new here or have been subscribed since the beginning, I appreciate you!

Thanks for being Nick’s Neighbors and making the Valley a kick-ass place to live.

Now, onto my birthday wishes…

Los Angeles News

Here’s what’s happening this week:

🏀 LA Lakers to Sell to Dodgers Owner. The Buss family will sell the Lakers to Mark Walter for a $10B valuation. (ESPN)

💰 LA County, Service Employees Find a Deal. The county and SoCal’s largest public sector union (SEIU 721) have agreed to a contract with $5K signing bonuses, $2k annual bonuses, and 5% COLA increases over three years. This could end a standoff that led to April’s two-day strike. (LA County)

🪧 Downtown Curfew is Lifted. There are no longer nightly curfews in downtown. Protests have eased, but Little Tokyo and the Historic Core remain scarred with boarded windows, vandalism, and lost business. Local owners say customers are slow to return. (LA City Mayor)
