šŸ¹ Summer drinks, concerts in the park, and more wildfires.

For July 18, 2024

Children celebrate the first day of summer at the Verdugo Pool in Burbank (1950).

Welcome to your bite-sized Valley update for Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Did you knowā€”

The flashy and bejeweled costumes made famous by Elton John, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash were made by Nudie Cohn, a Ukranian immigrant from North Hollywood.

On the corner of Victory and Vineland, Nudie Cohn made a name for himself making custom suits, hats, boots, and outfits for celebrities.

While he originally made womenā€™s underwear, he got caught up in the country-music movement of the 1950s and wanted to make eye-catching outfits for singers and stars.

Visit the Valley Relics Museum to check out some of his costumes.
