LA News
🍔 A new In-N-Out is in limbo (Woodland Hills). The City okayed a new In-N-Out on Ventura Blvd., but a Woodland Hills resident plans to sue, citing traffic and air quality concerns. Supporters say the project fits the Reimagine Ventura plan, which hopes to turn Ventura Blvd. into SFV’s “main street.” (ValleyNewsGroup) If more In-N-Outs means smaller lines elsewhere, is it a community service?
🎬 Dolby Theatre Sold (Hollywood). Jebs Hollywood Entertainment, which also runs the TCL Chinese Theatre, bought the Dolby Theatre—home of the Oscars—for around $50 million. The investment group includes producer Elie Samaha and former Sony president Jeff Sagansky. (LA Times) New owners, same red carpet.
💻 iPads at Las Palmas Park (San Fernando). Thanks to the Tech and Education Grant, the City of San Fernando bought 15 iPads for Las Palmas Park to help seniors, students, and parents build digital skills. They can be used to browse the internet, apply for scholarships, or even connect on Zoom. (City of San Fernando) But do they have Wordle on them?
🎭 High School Arts Scholarships (Los Angeles). The Music Center’s Spotlight program offers $100,000 in scholarships and professional classes to local arts students. High school students can apply for free by October 18 by submitting video auditions in acting, dance, and music. (NoHo Arts District)
