🎪 County fair, cheap gas, and summer markets.

For July 25, 2024

Bill Suitor flew a jet-pack over the 1984 LA Olympics.

Welcome to your bite-sized Valley update for Thursday, July 25, 2024.

Did you know—

This week in 1984, the Olympics began in Los Angeles.

Running from July 28 to August 12, 1984, the LA Olympic Games marked Michael Jordan’s first Olympics and the debut of synchronized swimming, windsurfing, and rhythmic gymnastics.

Originally, the games were slated to be held in Tehran, Iran. However, following the Iranian Revolution, Iran withdrew, and Los Angeles was awarded the games by default.

Nearly 6 million people attended the 1984 LA Olympics.

Thinking about the traffic for the 2028 LA Olympics already makes me nervous…
