She asked me, “When is this new Gelson’s supposed to open?” as we drove past the renovated storefront.
I knew the answer, but she Googled it before I could reply.
"January 28th! It says so right…here,” she said.
I didn’t need to see her screen to know what she was looking at.

🏫 LAUSD Board to Vote on Layoffs in February. The district is planning to save $1.4 billion over two years through cuts at central offices and school sites. The board votes Feb. 10. (LAist)
🚇 Sepulveda Pass Subway Plan Expecting Approval. The proposal would build nearly 13 miles of heavy rail connecting Van Nuys to the Westside. The $20-25 billion underground line would include seven stations. (Daily News)
