The Midnight Hour Records Says Goodbye to the City of San Fernando (Source: San Fernando Valley Sun)

Welcome to your weekly San Fernando Valley update: August 27–September 2, 2026.

In this week's NoHo Nick:

  • 🔭 Stargazing

  • 🎬 Pulp Fiction

  • 🎸 Reggae

  • 🍙 Onigiri

It’s hot.

You probably shouldn’t be walking your dog in the heat.

“How do I know if it’s too hot?”

Put your hand on the asphalt for 7 seconds. If it burns you, it will burn their paws.

Here are more tips from LA Animal Services.

Trivia

❓️ What's the tallest building in the San Fernando Valley?

Last week's question: Studio City is actually named after a particular studio. It opened in 1928 and was built by a silent-film pioneer. Which studio is it?

Answer: Mack Sennett Studios. Silent-film pioneer Mack Sennett opened it in May 1928 at Ventura Blvd. and Radford Ave., and the surrounding area became known as Studio City. The lot survives today as Radford Studio Center.
